Product and availability
What is WILDOT?
WILDOT is a nature discovery and identification app. Capture or import a plant, insect or another observation, review AI candidates, confirm it into a personal Catalog and keep a private map footprint.
Can I download it now?
WILDOT is in development and launch preparation. The website does not yet provide a confirmed App Store link; the download entry will be added after availability is confirmed.
Which languages are planned?
The current development scope includes Simplified Chinese, English and Japanese. Final availability will follow the released version.
Observations, location and privacy
Will precise locations be public?
Not by default. Raw observations and precise coordinates stay private. Shared material uses only city-level or coarser location, with additional blur, delay or hiding for sensitive species.
Does it track location in the background?
No. Location is used only for observation and map scenarios chosen by the user, without continuous background location.
Can photos and identification records be deleted?
The current direction includes management and deletion controls for observations, Catalog records and account data. Development-stage or special deletion requests can also be sent to support.
Identification results and boundaries
Are AI identification results always accurate?
No. WILDOT provides candidates, explanations and reference context for user confirmation. It does not replace expert species identification, medical judgment or field-safety decisions.
What if I encounter a rare or risky species?
Do not touch, eat or handle an organism based only on an app result, and do not publish its precise location. Follow local rules and professional guidance for protected, toxic or risky species.
